TRAFFIC STOP RESULTS IN ARREST FOR POSSESSION OF METH

     A Norfork area man was arrested early this morning on felony drug charges after he was stopped by a Sheriff's Deputy for a traffic violation.  At approximately 4:08 AM, Deputy William Altazan pulled over 32 year old RANDALL SCOTT BEARD on State Highway 5 South of Mountain Home for a driving violation.  Upon inquiry, it was found that RANDALL BEARD had a suspended driver license.

     RANDALL BEARD was taken into custody.  During a search of the vehicle, deputies found approximately 3 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, including scales and a pipe.  BEARD was ultimately taken to the Baxter County Detention Center and booked on charges of:

Possession of Methamphetamine with Purpose to Deliver - Felony
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - Felony
Driving While License Suspended - Misdemeanor
Driving Left of Center - Misdemeanor.

     RANDALL BEARD is being held in lieu of $15,000 bond, and he will appear in Circuit Court to answer on April 3rd.
