SEX OFFENDER ARRESTED FOR VIOLATING REQUIREMENTS OF REGISTRATION

A registered sex offender has been arrested by the Sheriff's Office for failure to comply with registration and reporting requirements.
58 year old RODNEY WAYNE BRABON of Henderson, assessed by the state as a low level 2 offender, was arrested Thursday, September 25th after it was determined that he had failed to disclose current employment status and had an active social media account under an alias name, as well as other violations.
Sheriff's Deputy Tanner Anderson, who is the sex offender registration coordinator for the Sheriff's Office, was conducting a registration compliance check on BRABON. Deputy Anderson learned that BRABON had not disclosed to the Sheriff's Office that he was no longer employed at the business he claimed to be working at. BRABON was also found to have multiple email accounts, as well as a social media account under the fictitious name of RODNEY JONES, none of which had been disclosed to the Sheriff's Office as required by law. In addition, BRABON was carrying a state identification card with an incorrect physical address listed.
RODNEY BRABON was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center on charges of:
Failure to comply with registration and reporting requirements - Felony
Providing incorrect address on identification cards - Misdemeanor
Habitual Offender - Penalty Enhancement
BRABON is being held in custody in lieu of $15,000 bond. He will appear before the Circuit Court to answer on October 6th.
