Life Saving Awards
Recently two Baxter County Deputies were presented with Life Saving Awards at the June Quorum Court Meeting. The deputies were recognized for their quick actions, potentially saving the lives of two individuals.
On March 30, 2026, Corporal Conner Stanton responded to a call in the Mallard Point area of Mountain Home, Arkansas. When Corporal Stanton arrived, he observed a wounded man, having been shot in the abdomen and was losing a large amount of blood. Using the medical trauma kit from his patrol unit, Corporal Stanton was able to control the bleeding until medical personnel arrived. The victim was transported to the hospital where he survived his injuries.
On May 5, 2026, Sergeant Craig Kocka responded to a house fire south of the Norfork, Arkansas area. When Sergeant Kocka arrived, he observed a mobile home on fire. He was informed there was an elderly female trapped inside the residence. Sergeant Kocka was able to gain entry to a back bedroom window. The room was already filled with smoke, but Sergeant Kocka was able to reach through the window and find the elderly female on the floor. Sergeant Kocka was able to pull her through the window just moments before the mobile home was fully engaged in flames. The elderly female was transported to the hospital, was treated and released.
The two deputies will wear a LIFE SAVING recognition bar on their Class A Uniform to signify the honor.
