DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CHARGES FILED AGAINST MOUNTAIN HOME MAN

     A Mountain Home man, 27 year old DUSTY ALLAN RHOADES, who deputies had been searching for since last week, was arrested Saturday night, May 12th, on an outstanding bench warrant for felony aggravated assault.

     Deputies obtained the warrant from the Circuit Court on May 8th after an investigation into two separate incidents of domestic violence involving DUSTY RHOADES and his wife.  The first incident was reported on May 1st when the victim reported that RHOADES struck her twice with a wooden stick and with his shoes causing injuries to her person, and then threatened her with a knife.

     On May 7th, a second altercation occurred after the victim meet with RHOADES at a Mountain Home motel to try and get some of her property back from him.  During this incident, the victim alleged that RHOADES choked her and struck her in the face.   Officers observed injuries that the victim sustained, and she received medical treatment at Baxter Regional Medical Center. 

     Late Saturday evening, May 12th, DUSTY RHOADES was spotted by officers on West Rd near Mountain Home.  He fled into the woods from them.  The canine tracking team from the Arkansas Department of Corrections was summoned.  They were able to locate RHOADES within a short time of their arrival and take him into custody.

     DUSTY RHOADES was booked into the Detention Center on charges specified in the warrant, which were:

Aggravated Assault on Family or Household Member – Felony
Domestic Battery 3rd Degree – Felony
Terroristic Threatening 1st Degree – Felony
Harassment - Misdemeanor

     He was also charged with misdemeanor Fleeing.  RHOADES has a bond of $17,980 on these charges.  He will appear in Circuit Court to answer on May 17th.
