SHERIFF'S FOUNDATION RECEIVES FORMAL TAX EXEMPT STATUS AND BODY ARMOR HAS BEEN RECEIVED
The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office and Baxter County Sheriff’s Foundation, Inc. are pleased to announce that final approval for the Sheriff’s Foundation’s tax exempt 501 (c) 3 status has been granted by the Internal Revenue Service. The Foundation was notified that this status was granted to the Sheriff’s Foundation and made retroactive to the date the Sheriff’s Foundation was originally formed on September 29, 2009. The Board of Directors was informed of this notification at its bi-annual meeting held on May 8th.
The Sheriff’s Office and Sheriff’s Foundation are also announcing that the body armor on order for five (5) female Sheriff’s Deputies has been received from the vendor and is now being worn by the deputies. The purchase of these body armor vests was made possible from several donations made to the Sheriff’s Foundation for that specific purpose.
Both the Sheriff’s Office and Sheriff’s Foundation wish to sincerely express their thanks and gratitude to the public for its continued support for both organizations, and for helping to provide for the safety of the officers.

Baxter County Sheriff
