08/26/2011

           Shawn Marie Crabtree

On August 24 at approximately 1:42 am, the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office responded to Rocky Ridge Road, East of Mountain Home. The victim told Sheriff’s Deputies that he found an abandoned vehicle at the end of Rocky Ridge Road and could see items in the car that belonged to him. The items had been taken from a locked storage container on the victim’s boat dock.

Sheriff’s Investigators towed the 1989 Lincoln Town Car and found numerous items inside that belonged to the victim. The owner of the vehicle was located at her residence on Holiday Drive, and questioned by Investigators. After initially denying any involvement, the suspect admitted to Investigators that she had taken the items from the boat dock. She also admitted that her two sons, ages two (2) and eleven (11) were with her during the theft. She had to leave the vehicle because it would not start when she attempted to leave the area.

Shawn Marie Crabtree, age 38, was charged with:

Breaking or Entering -- Class D Felony
Theft of Property -- Class A Misdemeanor
Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile (2 Counts) -- Class A Misdemeanor

Crabtree was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center where she posted a $5,000 bond and was released pending her appearance in Baxter County Circuit Court on September 1, 2011.
