NEW WARRANTS PAGE FEATURE IS PROVING TO BE SUCCESSFUL

10/27/2009

During the period of Friday, October 23rd through Sunday, October 25th, the Baxter County Sheriff's Office was able to serve twenty-two (22) warrants of arrest that appeared on the new active Warrants page of the Sheriff's Office web site. The new Warrants page feature was activated on October 22nd.

Following the implementation of this feature, the Sheriff's Office began receiving multiple citizen tips by phone, in person, and by email as to the whereabouts of various persons shown to have an active, outstanding arrest warrant. Several persons voluntarily surrendered themselves to the Sheriff's Office to take care of their warrants, while deputies served several others in the field.

The Sheriff's Office is continuing to receive citizen tips and information each day pertaining to these active warrants, and we will be following up on each tip received. We believe the new active Warrant feature is already proving itself to be a success, and we sincerely appreciate the assistance we are receiving from the public in helping serve these warrants.
