     The Sheriff's Office is notifying the public that a new sex offender has registered with the Sheriff's Office after moving into this jurisdiction from the State of Texas.

NAME:                       MICHAEL EDRINGTON

DATE OF BIRTH:   12/31/1959

HOME ADDRESS:   5837 Highway 178 West, #5
                                    Lakeview, Arkansas 72642               

          The offender was arrested on 12/21/2013 in Robinson, Texas on charges of (1) Sexual Abuse of a Child Victim under 14 years of age, (2) Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child, and (3) Indecency with a Child Involving Sexual Contact.  Documentation indicates that the offender was ultimately convicted in court on 02/04/2016, after appeal, of two counts of Indecency with a Child Involving Sexual Contact.  He was registered as a sex offender with the State of Texas prior to moving to Arkansas.

     This offender has not yet been assigned a Risk Level in Arkansas by SOCNA (Sex Offender Community Notification Assessment).

     This person is not wanted by law enforcement at this time.  This notification is not intended to increase fear; rather it is our belief that an informed public is a safer public.  This information cannot be used to threaten, intimidate, or harass Registered Sex Offenders.  Citizen abuse will not be tolerated.  Such abuse could potentially end law enforcement's ability to do community notification.
