Aggravated Assault Charges File on 33-Year-Old Mountain Home Man

On Thursday, September 5th at approximately 7:30 pm, 911 advised the Baxter County Sheriff's Office of a physical domestic at an address on Promise Land Road, rural Baxter County. The caller stated she was hiding in a closet and the suspect was armed with a rifle and threatening her.
Sheriff's Deputies arrived at the residence and observed a male subject run from the residence into a wooded area behind the house. Deputies were able to get three female victims safely out of the residence.
The Mountain Home Police Department brought their drone to the scene to assist. The dog tracking team from the North Central Department came to the scene and approximately 90 minutes later, they located the suspect and took him into custody without incident. A rifle was located nearby where the suspect had thrown it.
During the search for the suspect, several fully matured marijuana plants were located, growing behind an outbuilding on the property.
The suspect, 33-year-old, Chris Mason Johnston of rural Mountain Home was charged with:
Aggravated Assault on a Family Member - two (2) counts
Domestic Battery, 3rd Degree - three (3) counts
False Imprisonment - 1st Degree
Fleeing
Resisting Arrest
Manufacture of a Controlled Substance
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Chris Johnston was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center on a bond of $25,000 pending his appearance in Baxter County Circuit Court on Sept 23, 2024, at 1 pm.
