The Baxter County Sheriff's Office experienced a busy Memorial Day Holiday Weekend this year.  Although there were no major incidents reported within our jurisdiction, deputies did respond to 107 complaint calls or calls for service.  They issued 17 citations for traffic violations and issued 7 citations for criminal misdemeanor offenses.  Deputies also issued 58 written warnings for traffic violations.

There was a total of 16 persons booked into the Baxter County Detention Center from arrests made by all law enforcement agencies in the county for both felony and misdemeanor offenses.  These included 1 booking for Driving While Intoxicated, 1 booking for Drug Possession, and 8 bookings for charges related to domestic violence incidents.

In addition to normal operations, deputies also patrolled U. S. Army Corp of Engineers parks on Lake Norfork and Lake Bull Shoals under contract.  They also participated in the Selected Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP), which is part of the Arkansas Highway Safety initiative.
