SUSPECT IN CUSTODY FOLLOWING BRIEF PURSUIT AND MANHUNT THIS MORNING

03/31/2023

Trevior Henley

The Baxter County Sheriff's Office has arrested 51 year old TREVIOR HENLEY of rural Mountain Home on multiple charges following a brief vehicle pursuit and manhunt earlier this morning.

At approximately 9:23 AM, the Sheriff's Office received a complaint from a residence in the Clarkridge area on State Highway 201 North that an unknown man in a white Ford mustang had pulled into the driveway of the residence.  The man got out of the vehicle.  He was nude, and he began masturbating.  The homeowner then called 9-1-1 to report the incident.

As Sheriff's Deputies were responding, the man got back into his vehicle and attempted to leave.  He ran his vehicle into a tree, and then also ran it into another vehicle and fled the scene, heading South bound on Highway 201 in the Ford mustang.  A Sheriff's Deputy met the suspect and turned around to give chase.  The suspect fled south at high speed, with the deputy pursuing.  The deputy lost sight of the suspect vehicle in the area of Baxter CR 782.  Deputies had already set up south of Baxter CR 782 to deploy spike strips, but the suspect vehicle did not appear.

Several Deputies and Investigators then began searching various county roads in the area where the suspect vehicle was last seen.  The Sheriff's Office launched its helicopter to help in the search.  At approximately 10:30 AM, the suspect vehicle was spotted from the air near a small building off RD 1420 and Zane Dr.  The canine tracking team from the North Central Unit - Arkansas Division of Corrections arrived at the location at around 11:10 AM.  The canine immediately began tracking the suspect in a northerly direction from the vehicle.  Approximately 20 minutes later, the canine tracking team located the suspect in a wooded area hiding in a cedar grove.  The suspect was then taken into custody without incident.

The suspect, identified as TREVIOR HENLEY, was then transported to the Baxter County Detention Center where he is being booked on charges of:

Driving While Intoxicated - Drugs - Misdemeanor
Fleeing by Vehicle - Felony
Reckless Driving - Misdemeanor
Improper Passing - Misdemeanor
Driving Left of Center - Misdemeanor
Refusal of Intoxication Test - Misdemeanor
Criminal Trespass - Misdemeanor
Disorderly Conduct - Misdemeanor
Leaving Scene of an Accident with Property Damage - Misdemeanor

TREVIOR HENLEY remains in custody in lieu of $15,000 bond on these charges.  He will appear before the Circuit Court to answer later this month.
