Deputies and Investigator Equipment Made Possible With Donations to the Baxter County Sheriff's Foundation

Recently the Baxter County Quorum Court granted the Sheriff's request for two additional patrol deputies and a full-time investigator.  Because the request occurred late in the current year, funds had not been budgeted to equip these new officers.

Several public-spirited donors made donations to the Sheriff's Foundation to outfit these new officers. The Baxter County Sheriff's Foundation's nine-member Board voted unanimously to fully equip the two deputies and investigator with uniforms, handguns, shotguns, rifles, tasers, and new bulletproof vests. Because of the generosity of the donors, the Foundation also voted to purchase an additional seven bulletproof vests to replace the expiring vests worn by current Sheriff's Deputies.

Formed in 2009, the Sheriff's Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that gives donors with a heart for public safety a way to provide financial support beyond the scope of the Sheriff's Office's normal operating budget.  Donations are used for the betterment of the Office, including specialized equipment and technologies, professional development of deputies and employees, office improvements, and college scholarship opportunities for employees and their dependents.

We are extremely grateful for the generous donors who have contributed to the Sheriff's Foundation over the past 13 years.  Their donations make a lasting impact on the lives of the Sheriff's Office employees.
