      The Baxter County Sheriff's Office is currently accepting applications for the full time position of Deputy Sheriff to serve as a Court Bailiff in the various courts.  

     This position requires a current full-time law enforcement officer certification from the Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training (CLEST) or out of state equivalency.  The position will serve as Bailiff in the court systems and also act as a security officer for the courts complex building, screening persons coming into the building and maintaining the safety and security of the court complex premises.  In addition, the person holding the position must be capable of performing all other duties and functions generally and customarily performed by full time law enforcement officers when called upon to do so. 

     The starting base wage for the position is $16.75 per hour, which may be increased depending upon prior experience in the law enforcement field.  There is a 90 day probationary period of employment.  All county benefits are provided, including health, dental, and vision insurance, paid holidays, paid vacation, paid sick time, and participation in the state retirement system. 

      Anyone meeting the minimum certification qualification may obtain an application for employment from the Sheriff's Administration Offices during regular business office hours, Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Holidays excepted.  We cannot accept a resume unless it is accompanied by a fully completed application form.  The application period will remain open until the position has been filled.
