TRAFFIC VIOLATION LEADS TO ARREST ON DRUG CHARGES

     A Norfork man, 43 year old PATRICK DWAINE KELLY, was arrested Thursday afternoon, March 5th on a drug possession charge after being stopped for a traffic violation by Sheriff's Deputy Jacob Zappa.

     Deputy Zappa was driving behind PATRICK KELLY on State Highway 5 South in the Salesville community when he observed KELLY commit a traffic violation and pulled him over.  After speaking with KELLY, Deputy Zappa asked for consent to search, which was given.

     During the subsequent search, the deputy found drug paraphernalia in the vehicle and found a baggy of methamphetamine in KELLY'S pocket. 

     PATRICK KELLY was arrested and taken to the Detention Center where he was booked on charges of:

Possession of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) - Felony
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - Misdemeanor
Careless Driving - Violation

     PATRICK KELLY was released from custody after posting $2,500 bond and will appear before the Circuit Court to answer on March 12th.
