The Sheriff's Office was called to investigate a reported overdose death at 638 CR 27 early Saturday morning, September 28th.  At approximately 2:11 AM, it was reported to the Sheriff's Office that a 27 year old man at that residence was unresponsive and that CPR was being administered by another person at the residence.

When emergency medical personnel arrived, CPR was continued but paramedics were unable to revive the man.  The victim was identified as 27 year old DANIEL HURLBUT, last known address of Springdale, Arkansas.

The other person at the residence told investigators that DANIEL HURLBUT came over to visit and went into a back room to change.  When he did not return after a period of time, the other person went to look for him and found him unconscious in the back room.  Evidence of drug use was found in the vicinity of the victim.  The body of the victim was removed by the Baxter County Coroner's Office and is being sent to the Arkansas State Medical Examiner's Office in Little Rock to determine cause of death.  The death is believed to be accidental with no foul play suspected.
