SUSPECT IN CUSTODY FROM EARLY MORNING BURGLARY

07/20/2018

Gavin Willis Stutts

A Mountain Home man was arrested early this morning in connection with the burglary of the Sandra D’s Grocery Store on Hwy 101 North.  At approximately 2:20 AM this morning, the store owner, who lives adjacent to the store, heard her dogs barking. She looked inside the store and saw a man walking around inside, then called the 911 Center.

Deputies responded immediately.  The man fled before deputies arrived.  Video footage from the security camera system at the store was pulled up.  The suspect had made entry into the store by throwing a rock through the front door.  He had arrived in a Black Chevrolet Impala.  The suspect stole beer and cigarettes.  Based on the video footage, officers believed the suspect to be GAVIN STUTTS of Mountain Home.

The Mountain Home Police Department was alerted to watch for GAVIN STUTTS and the Black Chevrolet Impala.  He was located afterwards in Mountain Home and taken into custody.

GAVIN WILLIS STUTTS, 27 years of age, has been incarcerated in the Detention Center on charges of:

Commercial Burglary – Felony
Theft of Property – Misdemeanor

The investigation into this matter is continuing, and the Mountain Home Police Department is investigating a separate incident in the city that STUTTS is believed to be connected with. GAVIN STUTTS is currently being held without bond pending an appearance before a Judicial Officer.  STUTTS has been booked into the Baxter County Detention Center a total of five times since 2011 on drug and alcohol offenses.
