Authorities this morning arrested a parolee, 47 year old ROBERT WAYNE HADLEY of Cotter, on an outstanding bench warrant for Battery in the First Degree following a domestic violence incident that occurred last Saturday, May 12th, on Walnut Hill Lane in Cotter.

It was reported to deputies that a violent domestic disturbance had taken place between a man and his step son, ROBERT WAYNE HADLEY, and that injuries had occurred. HADLEY had already fled from the residence before deputies arrived.  It was reported that HADLEY had used a baseball bat to assault his step father and his mother. HADLEY was said to have become enraged over the issue of $5.00 that he wanted to borrow from his mother to use to buy a knife. ROBERT HADLEY struck his 76 year old step father in the head and hand with the baseball bat.  He also caused injury to his 65 year old mother while she was attempting to take the bat away from him.  Both victims sustained injuries requiring medical attention.

Both victims escaped from the residence and went to a neighbor’s house. ROBERT HADLEY had initially remained at the house, but he left before deputies arrived on scene.  Several deputies searched the area for ROBERT HADLEY, but he was not located that evening.  The baseball bat had been picked up and held by the neighbor to prevent HADLEY from using it again.

A bench warrant was issued on May 15th for the arrest of ROBERT HADLEY.  Authorities have been trying to find him since the incident occurred.  Information obtained via a search warrant issued to a communication service provider allowed authorities to track ROBERT HADLEY to a residence in Marion County this morning.  The Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from Arkansas Department of Community Corrections’ Fugitive Task Force in apprehending HADLEY.  The Marion County Sheriff’s Office was also made aware of the situation.

A team of officers from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office ,the Arkansas Department of Community Corrections, and the canine handling team from the Arkansas Department of Corrections – North Central Unit descended upon the residence at 243 MC 7032 in Flippin, Arkansas this morning and found ROBERT HADLEY there.  He was arrested and taken into custody without incident. HADLEY was taken to the Baxter County Detention Center and booked on two (2) counts of Battery in the First Degree, Class B Felonies.   He has a bond of $50,000 as specified on the warrant, and he will appear in the Circuit Court to answer on June 21st.

In addition, a no bond parole violation hold has been placed on ROBERT HADLEY. ROBERT HADLEY has been booked into the Baxter County Jail a total of 21 times since 2000, primarily on drug and alcohol charges.  He was released on parole from the Arkansas Department of Corrections on May 23, 2017.

Also, while at the residence, officer encountered probationer JARRED WILLIAM KINGBIRD, 22 years old of Midway, Arkansas, and he was arrested on an outstanding warrant from the Cabot Police Department for failing to appear in court on a shoplifting charge.  KINGBIRD was also taken to the Baxter County Detention Center and incarcerated pending transfer to Cabot authorities.
