The Sheriff’s Office has arrested a parolee, 35 year old ELI MICHAEL WEEDMAN of Mountain Home, on multiple felony charges relating to an incident that occurred on May 13th.  On that date, deputies were dispatched to a house on Old Tracy Road for a reported burglary.  It was reported that ELI MICHAEL WEEDMAN and a second male, as yet unidentified, kicked in the door of the residence. WEEDMAN was alleged to be carrying a handgun. WEEDMAN forced a female acquaintance of his who was at the residence to leave with him. WEEDMAN also took personal property from the house that belonged to the occupant. WEEDMAN was believed to be headed to a house on Baxter CR 302.

Deputies went to Baxter CR 302 to search for WEEDMAN.  They found the vehicle that WEEDMAN and the female had left in, but they were no longer at the house.  The homeowner stated that WEEDMAN and the female had gone into the back bedroom, then left shortly thereafter with a couple of backpacks.  The firearm that WEEDMAN had in his possession when he forced the woman to leave from Old Tracy Road, being a Jennings .22 semi-automatic pistol, was found in the bedroom and taken into evidence.

The female was later able to leave WEEDMAN after he allowed her to call a ride.  She was found by deputies at her place of employment and was interviewed about the incident.  She verified that WEEDMAN had come to the house on Old Tracy Road and was armed with a handgun.  She stated that WEEDMAN pointed the gun at the other person who was in the house, then ordered her to leave with him.  The victim said she believed WEEDMAN would harm her if she refused.  She also alleged that WEEDMAN had threatened her with bodily harm the previous day.

Deputies were not able to locate WEEDMAN that day, however, after following up on a citizen tip, deputies located WEEDMAN at a house on South Street in Mountain Home Monday afternoon, May 14th, and took him into custody.   Sheriff’s investigators were already in the process of procuring a warrant for the arrest of WEEDMAN.  During his arrest, deputies also found various articles of drug paraphernalia and prescription pills at the house on South Street. WEEDMAN was transported to the Detention Center and booked on charges of:

Kidnapping – Felony
Aggravated Robbery – Felony
Aggravated Assault – Felony
Possession Controlled Substance – Felony
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - Felony
Criminal Mischief – Misdemeanor
Habitual Offender – Penalty Enhancement

He is being held in lieu of $150,000 bond, with an appearance in Circuit Court set for May 17th. ELI MICHAEL WEEDMAN has been booked into the Baxter County Jail a total of 36 times since 2000.

Arrested at the house along with ELI MICHAEL WEEDMAN was 25 year old SAMANTHA RAE WEEDMAN.  She was booked on charges of:

Possession Controlled Substance – Felony
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Felony

SAMANTHA WEEDMAN was released from custody on $2,000 bond and will appear in Circuit Court on June 21st.

It is anticipated that charges will be filed against ELI WEEDMAN’S accomplice once the identity of that person is determined.
