STOLEN VEHICLE RECOVERED AND DRIVER ARRESTED

     The Sheriff’s Office today arrested 47 year old LEE EDWARD WILLIE of rural Mountain Home on charges related to the theft of a motor vehicle. 

     A 1998 Dodge Dakota pickup truck valued at $3,000 was reported stolen on April 26th from an address on Awesome Ln.  The victim told investigators that LEE WILLIE asked him on April 25th to use the truck and was told no.    The victim discovered the vehicle to be missing the next day and made the theft report. 

     This afternoon, the stolen vehicle was spotted being driven on State Hwy 5 N near Baxter CR 27, and the Sheriff's Office was alerted.  Sheriff’s Deputies moved to intercept.  The vehicle continued to Baxter CR 25.  Deputies located the vehicle and made a traffic stop at 1:09 PM. LEE EDWARD WILLIE was driving the vehicle.  He was arrested and taken into custody.   WILLIE was found to be a parolee, and he also had drug paraphernalia in his possession.

     LEE WILLIE was transported to the Baxter County Detention Center and booked on charges of:

Theft of Property (motor vehicle) – Felony
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Felony
Parole Violation – Felony

   WILLIE has a bond of $7,500 on the new charges but is being held without bond for the parole violation.  He will appear before the Baxter County Circuit Court to answer on May 3rd.
