MAN ARRESTED FOR DRUG POSSESSION DURING TRAFFIC STOP

02/05/2018

Andrew Lee Beyer

A rural Mountain Home man, 32 year old ANDREW LEE BEYER, was arrested Friday evening, February 2nd, on several charges after a deputy made a vehicle stop on Baxter CR 913.

Sheriff’s Sergeant Robert Recktenwald was responding to check on a vehicle reported to be broken down on Baxter CR 913 and that ANDREW BEYER was believed to be with the vehicle.  There was an outstanding arrest warrant for BEYER for a probation violation.  When Sergeant Recktenwald was approaching the area he observed a pickup truck pull from Baxter CR 913 onto State Highway 126 N.  The truck did not have a license plate displayed, and Sergeant Recktenwald initiated a vehicle stop.  He recognized ANDREW BEYER as being a passenger in the vehicle.

Sergeant Recktenwald made contact with BEYER and attempted to take him into custody on the outstanding warrant. BEYER pulled away and fled on foot.  The deputy gave chase for about 30 yards, then deployed a TASER to apprehend BEYER, who was subsequently taken into custody.  Afterwards, during a search of the vehicle, a small amount of methamphetamine was found that was attributed to belonging to BEYER.

ANDREW LEE BEYER was transported to the Baxter County Detention Center and booked on charges of:

Possession of Controlled Substance (methamphetamine) – Felony Fleeing from Officer – Misdemeanor Probation Violation – Misdemeanor

He has a bond of $5,000 on the new charges but is being held without bond on the probation violation.  BEYER will appear in Circuit Court on February 22nd to answer.  The driver of the truck was not charged.
