SEX OFFENDER ARRESTED FOR FAILURE TO COMPLY

     A sex offender has been arrested and charged with failure to comply with registration requirements after deputies discovered he was not living or staying at his stated place of residence. 39 year old DAMION JACKSON McBRIDE, a level 2 sex offender registered with the Sheriff’s Office, was arrested Wednesday, January 3rd.  A deputy went to the address that McBRIDE was said to be residing at, 26 McBride Ln, in order to serve a subpoena on him. DAMION McBRIDE was not found there.  Neighbors told the deputy that McBRIDE was actually living at 4712 Highway 5 South in a mobile home with his girlfriend. 

     The deputy then went to 4712 Highway 5 South and made contact with the girlfriend.  She confirmed that DAMION McBRIDE was living there at that residence.  While the deputy was there, he observed a small blue pickup truck arrive at the address and saw that McBRIDE was a passenger in the truck.  The deputy stopped the vehicle and took McBRIDE into custody. McBRIDE is a parolee, and officers with Arkansas Department of Community Corrections were also at the scene and assisted with the apprehension. 

     DAMION McBRIDE was transported to the Detention Center and incarcerated on charges of:

Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration – Felony
Parole Violation – Felony

     He is being held on $15,000 bond on the new charge and without bond for the parole violation.  He will appear in Baxter County Circuit Court to answer on January 18th.
