ARREST MADE IN BURGLARY AND THEFT CASES

11/17/2017

Phillip Randall Bartlett

Sheriff’s Investigators arrested 29 year old PHILLIP RANDALL BARTLETT of Yellville on Tuesday, November 14th, on numerous charges related to burglaries and thefts.

On October 8, 2017, the Sheriff’s Office took a report from the owner of resort cabins located at 1176 CR 114 that someone had cut the locks off of three of the buildings on the property and stole items of property therefrom.  The victim stated that he has a surveillance system at the location.  The suspect apparently followed the video camera wire to a crawl space where the DVR was located and stole the recording device as well.   However, the victim also had a game camera installed at a different location, and photographs of the face of the two suspects and the license plate number of the suspects’ vehicle were captured by the game camera.  An adjacent property owner also reported a break-in and theft had occurred there.

During the course of the investigation, the identity of the two suspects in the photographs were determined and confirmed.  One of the suspects was PHILLIP RANDALL BARTLETT.  The Marion County Sheriff’s Office had previously confiscated a trailer from a Marion County theft case involving both of the suspects.  Items belonging to the two victims on Baxter CR 114 were found on that trailer.

Bench warrants for both suspects were obtained from the Circuit Court.  The warrant on PHILLIP BARTLETT, who shows to be on parole, was served.  He is currently incarcerated in the Baxter County Detention Center on charges of:

Commercial Burglary (3 counts) – Felonies
Theft of Property (2 counts) – Felonies
Theft of Property (1 count) – Misdemeanor
Criminal Mischief (1 count) – Felony
Criminal Mischief (1 count) – Misdemeanor
Non-Payment of Fines (outstanding misdemeanor warrant)
Parole Violation – Felony

BARTLETT has a bond of $25,000 on the new charges but is being held without bond on the parole violation.  He will appear in Baxter County Circuit Court to answer on November 30th. BARTLETT has a total of 20 bookings in the Detention Center since 2006.

The warrant has not yet been served on the second suspect.
