DEPUTY ARREST WOMEN DURING TRAFFIC STOP FOR POSSESSION OF METH

11/06/2017

Miranda C. Collins

The Sheriff’s Office arrested a Flippin woman over the weekend for possession of methamphetamine after she was pulled over for an equipment violation.

Sheriff’s Corporal Rockie Morrell was on patrol on the evening of November 4th when he saw a 2006 Ford Fiesta traveling South on Highway 126 with a headlamp out.  He initiated a stop on the vehicle for the equipment violation.  The driver pulled into the Maytag Laundry at Midway.

The driver was identified as 34 year old MIRANDA C. COLLINS of Flippin, Arkansas.  During the course of the stop, the deputy asked MIRANDA COLLINS for permission and consent to search her purse, and she gave such consent.

The deputy found a hard case container inside the purse that contained two small baggies of methamphetamine, which weighed approximately ½ gram. MIRANDA COLLINS was thus arrested and transported to the Detention Center where she was booked on charges of:

Possession of Controlled Substance (methamphetamine)- Felony

COLLINS has a bond of $5,000 and will appear in the Baxter County Circuit Court to answer on November 30th.
