PAROLEE ARRESTED ON DRUG AND WEAPONS CHARGES

     A parolee was arrested this morning on drug and weapons charges when Investigators conducted a home visit at 544 Fout Road in Gamaliel.  38 year old BRANDON JOE VAZQUEZ of that address was taken into custody as a result of contraband located during a search of the premises.

     Investigators found approximately two grams of methamphetamine and various articles of drug paraphernalia at the residence, as well as a SKS semiautomatic rifle. VAZQUEZ, being a convicted felon, is prohibited by law from possessing firearms.

     BRANDON VAZQUEZ was taken to the Detention Center and booked at approximately 11:00 AM on charges of:

Possession of Methamphetamine with Purpose of Delivery – Felony
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (2 counts) – Felonies
Possession of Firearm by Certain Persons (convicted felon) – Felony
Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms – Felony
Parole Violation

     VAZQUEZ has a bond of $25,000 on the new charges, but is being held without bond for the parole violation.  He will appear in Baxter County Circuit Court to answer on October 19th.   He has been booked into the Baxter County Detention Center a total of seven times since 2010.

     A female, 32 year old TIFFANIE CORTEZ-LYNN, was also at the residence when Investigators arrived.  She was found to have an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for Non-Payment of Fines and also a civil body attachment for not paying child support.  She was also arrested and taken to the Detention Center.
