Death Investigation Underway

07/22/2017

On July 22, 2017 at approximately 12:19 AM, Baxter County 911 received a call from a man advising he had just arrived home at 71 Kierra Place, Mountain Home, and found his mother and step father deceased. (Son lived with parents)

Baxter County Deputies with assistance from the Mountain Home Police Department arrived at the scene and found the caller in the front yard still speaking with 911. Deputy Jamie Binnion and Officer Henry Campfield made entry into the home and located a male, later identified as 54 year old Kenneth Bradley Farley laying on his back on the bedroom floor just outside the master bathroom.  They also located a female later identified as 57 year old Jane Marie Farley, face down on the bathroom floor.

Sheriff's Investigators, Arkansas State Police Investigators and the Baxter County Coroner's Office examined the scene and conducted interviews throughout the night.  Evidence at the scene cause Investigators to believe at this time that Kenneth Farley shot Ms. Farley twice, once in the lower back and once in the left chest area and then shot himself once in the throat.  A Ruger 9 mm pistol was located next to the body of Mr. Farley.

The bodies of Kenneth and Jane Farley will be sent to the Medical Examiner’s Office at the Arkansas State Crime Lab in Little Rock to confirm the cause and manner of death.

The investigation is continuing. No further information will be released at this time pending the results of the Autopsies.

Agencies involved with the incident were: Baxter county Sheriff's Office, Mountain Home Police, Arkansas State Police, Baxter county Coroner's Office, Baxter Regional Paramedics, and Mountain Home Fire Dept.
