Sex Offender Moves Back to Baxter County From Iowa

The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office is notifying the public of a Level 2 (Moderate Risk) sex offender, who has moved back to Baxter County.   Michael Anthony Boutwell, age 57 moved from Baxter County to Iowa in January 2015. He has recently moved back to Baxter County and is now residing at 7630 Hwy 5 North, Mountain Home.

Boutwell is working for Wehrle Trucking Company in Lynnville, Iowa and is an over the road truck driver, gone 2-4 weeks at a time.

Michael Anthony Boutwell was convicted of Sexual Assault with a child under the age of 13, First Degree on 12-7-1998. The offense involved the offender, age 39 at the time, engaging in sexual contact with a 12-year old female who was babysitting children at his home.

This person is not wanted by law enforcement at this time.  This notification is not intended to increase fear; rather it is our belief that an informed public is a safer public.  This information cannot be used to threaten, intimidate, or harass Registered Sex Offenders.  Citizen abuse will not be tolerated.  Such abuse could potentially end law enforcement’s ability to do community notification.
