The Sheriff’s Office has arrested an Elizabeth, Arkansas man, 56 year old LENNIE VERL SWINK, for stealing a motor vehicle over the weekend.  On Saturday, June 25th, a man reported that a 1999 Dodge Ram pickup truck had been stolen from his driveway between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM that morning and named LENNIE SWINK as the suspect.  The owner of the vehicle had seen SWINK in the yard of the residence in question earlier and actually saw SWINK driving off in the truck.  Deputies were alerted to watch for the stolen vehicle.

Later in the morning, the truck owner’s brother saw the stolen vehicle on U. S. Hwy 62 East of Mountain Home and alerted the Sheriff’s Office.   Sheriff’s Corporal Robert Recktenwald found the vehicle and pulled the driver over in Mountain Home. LENNIE SWINK was found to be the driver.  He was taken into custody and transported to the Baxter County Detention Center where he was booked on the following charges:

Theft of property – Felony Driving While License Suspended – Misdemeanor

SWINK remains incarcerated with bond set at $10,000.  He will make an appearance in Circuit Court on June 30th.  The value of the stolen vehicle was approximately $5,000.
