Taylor Daniel George

The Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 26 year old rural Mountain Home parolee, TAYLOR DANIEL GEORGE, on charges related to the theft of a motor vehicle from the parking lot of the Ole Chi Mill on the morning of May 8th.

The owner of the vehicle, a 2001 Dodge Dakota pickup truck valued at approximately $2,500, told deputies he had parked the vehicle at the Ole Chi Mill and left it there overnight.  When he returned for it on the morning of May 8th, the vehicle was gone.  The owner then filed the theft report.

The Sheriff’s Office alerted other law enforcement agencies to watch for the stolen vehicle.  Later that afternoon, MHPD Officer Phillip Gonten found the vehicle on Rodeo Drive.  He initiated a vehicle stop, and TAYLOR D. GEORGE was found to be driving.

During the subsequent investigation, GEORGE informed Sheriff’s Corporal Kristofer Savino that he had needed a ride and took the vehicle, which had the keys left in the ignition.  During a search of his person, GEORGE was also found to have in his wallet a debit card belonging to the owner of the truck.

TAYLOR DANIEL GEORGE is being charged with two (2) counts of Theft of Property (vehicle and debit card), both being Class D Felonies.  He is being held in the Detention Center on $5,000 bond on these charges.  He is also being held on a parole violation charge and a Theft by Receiving charge filed by the Mountain Home Police Department. GEORGE will appear in the Circuit Court on May 12th.
