PAROLEE BEING HELD ON NEW DRUG CHARGES

02/12/2016

Joseph Eugene Kensinger

A Parolee, 36 year old JOSEPH EUGENE KENSINGER of Yellville, was arrested on new charges Tuesday afternoon, February 9th, after controlled substances were found on his person after being taken to the Baxter County Detention Center from the Arkansas Department of Community Corrections (ACC) office in Mountain Home.

KENSINGER first went to the ACC office where he was required to submit to a urinalysis drug screen. KENSINGER attempted to substitute a container of another person’s urine for his own, but this attempt was uncovered by ACC officers.  An ACC Officer then transported KENSINGER to the Baxter County Detention Center.  He was searched first by the transporting officer, who found thirteen pills on KENSINGER’s person.  These were determined to be hydrocodone and alprazolam.

Then, when a Jailer was conducting a more thorough search and a clothing change out, he found approximately 1.3 grams of methamphetamine in a clear plastic bag stuffed between the cushion and the boot of an ankle support boot that KENSINGER was wearing.

JOSEPH KENSINGER was booked into the Detention Center on charges of:

Possession of Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine – Felony
Possession of Controlled Substance – Hydrocodone – Felony
Possession of Controlled Substance – Alprazolam – Felony
Furnishing Prohibited Articles - Felony
Parole Violation – Felony

KENSINGER has a bond of $25,000 on the new charges and is being held without bond on the parole violation.  He will appear in the Circuit Court to answer later this month.
