Dennis Ryan White

The Sheriff’s Office has arrested 31 year old DENNIS RYAN WHITE of Cotter, Arkansas on charges related to an attempt to break-in to a change machine and ice dispenser machine at the Midway Car Wash.  Damage to the equipment was estimated to be approximately $1,470.00.   The incident was reported by the owner on November 20th,  after which time he obtained a suspect description and vehicle description from his video surveillance system.

The next day, November 21st, the owner reported he had seen the suspect vehicle again in the Midway area and gave chase to it, following it to the Cotter area where he lost it.  He provided officers with a license plate number and described the vehicle as a white 2001 GMC SUV.

On November 24th, the owner provided video surveillance footage of the initial incident, which provided investigators with an image of the suspect.  The suspect was believed to be residing in Cotter.  The Cotter Police Chief was shown the video and immediately recognized the suspect as DENNIS RYAN WHITE.

Investigators obtained search warrants, which were served at WHITE’s residence in Cotter on December 4th.  Evidence of the crime (a jack handle used to attempt to pry open the vending machines) was obtained during the search, and DENNIS RYANWHITE was arrested.  He was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center on charges of:

Criminal Mischief – First Degree – Felony
Criminal Attempt to Commit Breaking or Entering – Misdemeanor

WHITE was later released the same day after posting $4,000 bond.  He is scheduled to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court on December 11th to answer.
