The Sheriff’s Office arrested 28 year old NATHANIEL WALTER KUROWICKI of Mountain Home this morning on charges of possession of a stolen motorcycle and driving while intoxicated.

At approximately 9:05 AM, Sheriff’s Deputy Charles Menschik came across a man slumped over a motorcycle in the area of State Highway 201 South and County Road 69.  Deputy Menschik stopped to check on the welfare and status of this man.  Upon making contact, Deputy Menschik had to rouse the man out of his stupor and detected an odor of alcoholic beverage.

While investigating further with respect to the suspicion of driving while intoxicated, Deputy Menschik ran an inquiry on the license plate and vehicle identification number of the motorcycle, a 2011 Kawasaki, and learned it was entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) system as stolen from Jefferson County, Missouri on the morning of September 8th.  During questioning, NATHANIEL KUROWICKI admitted to having stolen the motorcycle in Missouri.

NATHANIEL KUROWICKI was subsequently arrested and taken to the Detention Center where he was booked on charges of:

Theft by Receiving – Felony
Driving While Intoxicated – 2nd
Offense – Misdemeanor
Driving While License Suspended – Misdemeanor
No Motorcycle Endorsement – Misdemeanor
No Liability Insurance – Misdemeanor

He is currently being held in lieu of $17,000 bond and will appear in the Baxter Circuit Court to answer later this month.

The Sheriff’s Office will be coordinating with authorities in Jefferson County, Missouri to determine if they will have charges as well.
