AUTHORITIES SERVE SEARCH WARRANT THIS MORNING AND MAKE TWO ARRESTS

     Baxter County Sheriff’s Office personnel, assisted by officers from other agencies, served a search warrant at 6:57 AM today at a private residence at 502 CR 30, just East of Mountain Home.  Sheriff’s Investigators obtained the search warrant based upon information obtained over a period of time that indicated illicit drug activity was taking place at the house. 

     As a result of this morning’s search, authorities arrested 49 year old REBECCA MARIE MARTIN of the residence on charges of:

Possession of Methamphetamine – Felony
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Felony
Possession of Firearm by Certain Person (convicted felon) – Felony charge

    Bond for REBECCA MARTIN was set at $15,000, with an appearance in Circuit Court set for January 23rd.

     Officers found approximately one (1) gram of methamphetamine, syringes and other paraphernalia, and a Marlin 30-30 rifle.  REBECCA MARTIN was prohibited from possessing a firearm because of a prior felony conviction.

     While officers were conducting the search, another person came to the residence in a vehicle and was detained.  This person, 58 year old JERRY E. MOORE of rural Mountain Home, was found to also have drug paraphernalia in his possession and was taken into custody.  He was charged with:

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Felony
Parole Violation

     JERRY MOORE has a $3,000 bond on the drug paraphernalia charge, but he is being held without bond on the parole violation.

     Three other persons inside the residence when the warrant was served were not arrested or charged.

     In addition to the Sheriff’s Office, agencies participating in the search were the Arkansas State Police, Mountain Home Police Department, Arkansas Department of Corrections – North Central Unit Canine Team, Arkansas Department of Community Corrections, and the 14th Judicial District Drug Task Force.  The Sheriff’s Office helicopter was also utilized.
