MAN IN CUSTODY ON BOTH COUNTY AND CITY CHARGES

A Midway man, 30 year old DAVID ALLEN LEWIS, JR., is being held in the Baxter County Detention Center on numerous charges following a joint investigation by the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office and the Mountain Home Police Department.
At approximately 10:45 AM on Sunday, November 17th, the Sheriff’s Office took a report indicating that a work van had been stolen from a job site at 597 CR 500 by DAVID ALLEN LEWIS, JR. It was also reported that LEWIS had taken a ring and credit cards from a private residence at 781 CR 508. An inquiry with the credit card company indicated a stolen credit card had been used recently at the Executive Inn in Mountain Home to rent a room.
Sheriff’s Deputies and Mountain Home Police Officers went to the Executive Inn and located the stolen vehicle, a 2002 Ford van, in the parking lot. After checking with hotel employees, officers were directed to room no. 113.
Officers found DAVID ALLEN LEWIS, JR. inside the room as well as three other persons. Officers found in the room three stolen credit cards, personal and business checks, and an assortment of items recently purchased with the stolen credit cards.
DAVID ALLEN LEWIS, JR. was arrested and is charged with the following crimes:
Baxter County Sheriff’s Office:
Residential Burglary – Class B Felony
Theft of Property (Ford van) – Class C Felony
Theft of Property (credit cards) – Class D Felonies (3 counts)
Theft of Property (ring and checks) – Class A Misdemeanor
Mountain Home Police Department:
Forgery – Class B Felonies (4 counts)
Theft of Property – Class A Misdemeanor
Bond on these charges is $30,000. DAVID LEWIS is also being held without bond on a Parole Violation and a Bond Revocation.
