Gerald Leroy Stow |
The Sheriff’s Office is notifying the public that a previously registered but un-assessed sex offender has now been assessed and assigned a risk level by the State of Arkansas. The Sheriff’s Office has been informed that this offender has been designated as Risk Level 2 (moderate risk to re-offend with community notification justified).
NAME: GERALD LEROY STOW
DATE OF BIRTH: 04/16/1952
HOME ADDRESS: 149 Lake Ln.
Mountain Home, Arkansas 72653
The offender was convicted in Jefferson County, Colorado of Aggravated Incest on 10/16/1989. He engaged in intrusive sexual contact with a female known to him from the time she was approximately aged 6 – 13. The offender admitted he engaged in sexual contact with a 14 year old female when he was 23. They reportedly met while working at the same business. Community notification is justified because of the young age of the victim at the time the crime was committed.
This person is not wanted by law enforcement at this time. This notification is not intended to increase fear; rather it is our belief that an informed public is a safer public. This information cannot be used to threaten, intimidate, or harass Registered Sex Offenders. Citizen abuse will not be tolerated. Such abuse could potentially end law enforcement’s ability to do community notification.
