JUVENILE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY FOR BREAKING INTO AUBURN HILLS REHAB CENTER

10/12/2012

A 15 year old Baxter County juvenile was taken into custody today and charged with breaking into the former Auburn Hills Rehabilitation Center on Highway 5 North of Mountain Home.

The break-in was reported to Sheriff’s deputies on September 24th when property care takers found the glass broken out of a door at the rear of the building.  There was an active video surveillance system in place on the premises that captured footage of a young male suspect inside the building.

Investigators were able to develop the juvenile as a suspect based upon video evidence.  After he was taken into custody, the juvenile admitted to having entered into the business and stealing some batteries.

The 15 year old juvenile was charged with Commercial Burglary, which is a felony crime, and with Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree, a misdemeanor.  He was turned over to Baxter County Juvenile authorities.
