Mountain Home School District graduated over 275 5th grade students from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office Drug Prevention Program last night. Dunbar Auditorium was almost full as family and friends participated in honoring the students. DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) is the primary program but students learn much more during the year from their School Resource Officer.
Commencement began with Mrs. Jackson (5th Grade Music Teacher) and her daughter Cate singing the National Anthem.
Individual students were presented with awards for their achievement along with hearing some words of encouragement from the guest speakers which included, Hackler Principal Sondra Monger, Assistant Principal Steve Morris, Assistant Principal Kevin Roach and Sheriff John Montgomery.
Deputy Danielle Campfield presents Principal Monger a Plaque from the Baxter County Sheriff's Office for her years of support and participation with the DARE Program. After 34 years, 8 as a Principle, Sondra will be retiring at the conclusion of this school year. Thank you for all you have done for the youth of our community!
