One Arrested After Theft of Boat and Personal Watercraft

Aug 4, 2012 at approximately 7:40 pm, Baxter County Sheriff’s Investigator Terry Johnson received a call reporting five persons had taken a boat and a personal water craft and had left a private dock at the end of CR 140 in the Henderson area.

Deputies, Corps of Engineers Rangers and Game and Fish Officers responded and located the subjects and escorted them back to land. Officers also recovered a 2001 25-foot Larsen Boat and a 2007 Seadoo Person Water Craft.  Investigators observed that the ignition had been tampered with to bypass the key switch.

Five people were taken into custody and interviewed by investigators. After further investigation four were released.  The fifth person, Michael Clark was arrested and booked into the Baxter County Detention Center.

Michael L. Clark, age 27 of Osceola, Arkansas was charged with:

                Theft of Property, Class B Felony
                Theft of Property, Class C Felony

Clark is currently being held on a $50,000 bond pending his appearance in Baxter County Circuit Court on Aug 9, 2012 at 9 am.

The investigation is continuing into thefts from other boats at this dock with more charges anticipated.  Michael Clark is currently on Probation out of the Jonesboro Office for Forgery.
