83-Year Old Woman Found Safe after 4 1/2 Hour Search

An 83-Year Old Mineloa, Texas woman was found safe after wandering away from a house in the Henderson, Arkansas area near Float Creek.  The woman was found approximately 1:30 am this date after being missing for approximately 4 and ½ hours. The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call at approximately 9:45 pm on Saturday evening.

The woman was vacationing in the area with family.  The family told Sheriff’s Deputies that she suffered from Alzheimer’s and left out the rear door of the residence without being noticed for some time.  The Baxter County Sheriff’s Helicopter and tracking dogs from the Arkansas Department of Corrections assisted with the search.  The woman was found safe in a heavily wooded area approximately ½ mile from the residence.  She was checked out by paramedics from the Baxter Regional Medical Center but other than a few scrapes and cuts she was in good health.

Sheriff John Montgomery
