Steven Scott Staton

On April 24, 2012, the Sheriff’s Office took a report from Cranfield Marina that a 1975 Kenzi 16 ft. fishing boat with a 9.9 horsepower mercury motor had been stolen from one of their docks.  The boat and motor were valued at approximately $1,400.

On May 21, 2012 at approximately 5:45 PM, the Sheriff’s Office was notified by the manager of Cranfield Marina that he had just spotted the stolen boat on the water and was following it in another boat heading toward the Pigeon Creek area.

Sheriff’s deputies arrived at Pigeon Creek after the stolen boat had been loaded onto a trailer and was being towed away by a Ford Explorer occupied by two men.  Deputies stopped this vehicle to investigate.  After it was determined that the boat in question was in fact the boat reported stolen, both men were taken into custody and taken to the Baxter County Detention Center.

STEVEN SCOTT STATON, 39 years old of rural Mountain Home and HENRY NIELSEN, 23 years old of rural Mountain Home, were both charged with:

Theft by Receiving – Class A Misdemeanor.

Bond was set at $500 each, and they will appear in District Court on June 28th.
