ARREST MADE FOR MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT

04/27/2012

Dillon Lawyer

On April 26th, the Sheriff’s Office took a report that a 2008 Ford F350 Pickup truck valued at $25,000 and belonging to the Missouri and North Arkansas Railroad had been stolen from a private residence off Big Pond Place, which is off State Highway 5 South.  A GPS locator device allowed deputies to locate the stolen vehicle buried in the mud at the end of North Cardinal Drive in Mountain Home.

The Mountain Home City Police had already arrested 18 year old DILLON LAWYER of rural Mountain Home for theft of another motor vehicle in a separate incident and for the break-in of a pharmacy in the city.  DILLON LAWYER was also developed as a suspect in the theft of the truck from Big Pond Place.  Investigators determined that a piece of equipment from this stolen truck was used in the break-in of the pharmacy that LAWYER had been arrested on.  Additional GPS evidence was gathered indicating the movement of the truck after it was stolen.

Based upon the evidence, DILLON LAWYER was also charged by Sheriff’s Investigator Brad Lewis with one felony count of motor vehicle theft.  LAWYER was incarcerated in the Baxter County Detention Center.  He was later released at 5:30 PM on April 26th after posting bond in the amount of $15,000 on this theft charge.  He is scheduled to appear for arraignment in Circuit Court on May 24th.
