ARREST MADE FOR DRUG CHARGES FOLLOWING DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE CALL

04/23/2012

Gavin Willis Stutts

GAVIN WILLIS STUTTS, 21 years old of Gamaliel, was arrested on drug charges this weekend after Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a reported domestic disturbance with shots fired from a shotgun at 49 Country Life Place in Midway, Arkansas.

At approximately 12:45 AM on April 21st, Sheriff’s Deputy Scott Thrasher responded to the complaint.  While enroute, he was informed that the man involved in the incident had already left the scene in a white Chevrolet Impala heading South on State Highway 5.

While still enroute, Deputy Thrasher met a vehicle matching that description and turned around on it.  He initiated a vehicle stop on State Highway 5 at Rodeo Drive near Mountain Home.  He was assisted by an Arkansas State Police trooper and a Mountain Home city police officer.

The vehicle was being driven by GAVIN STUTTS.  Officers found a shotgun in the vehicle with a spent cartridge in the chamber.  Officers also found a small amount of suspected marijuana, 31 pharmaceutical pills believed to be Xanax, and a smoking pipe.  STUTTS was taken into custody on the drug charges at the location of the stop.

During the investigation into the domestic dispute, it was confirmed that the shotgun had been fired at some point during the altercation, but there were no allegations and there was no evidence to indicate the shotgun was fired at or pointed at any other person.

GAVIN WILLIS STUTTS was incarcerated in the Detention Center in lieu of $2,360.00 bond on misdemeanor charges of:

Possession of Controlled Substance (2 counts) – Misdemeanors
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Misdemeanor
Disorderly Conduct – Misdemeanor

He will appear in District Court on May 8th
