Aaron John Guptill

Christopher Lynn Farris

On Friday, March 30th at approximately 4:47 PM, the Sheriff’s Office received a complaint that intoxicated people were causing some kind of disturbance at the end of Baxter CR 15 at the Bull Shoals Lake.

Sheriff’s Deputy Kris Savino arrived at the location and first made contact with a 19 year old man, identified as Christopher Lynn Farris of Mountain Home.  Mr. Farris had been consuming alcohol and was given a portable breath test, which confirmed his consumption of alcohol.  Deputy Savino also made contact with 45 year old Aaron J. Guptill of rural Mountain Home.  Guptill was swimming in the lake by the boat dock.  Deputy Savino recognized Guptill as being on parole.  Two other adults were also present.  A 1996 Nissan Sentra was also found at the location.

During the investigation, it was determined that Guptill had alcohol in this vehicle that belonged to him.  It was also determined that Farris had consumed some of the alcohol that belonged to Guptill.  When Deputy Savino questioned those persons as to ownership of the vehicle, none of them would answer.  Deputy Savino ran a check on the vehicle through the National Crime Information Center and learned the vehicle was entered stolen earlier that same date by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office in Clarksville, Arkansas.

Aaron J. Guptill was arrested and charged with:

Contributing to the Deliquency of a Minor – Misdemeanor
     Public Intoxication – Misdemeanor
     Parole Violation – Felony

Guptill is currently being held without bond in the Detention Center on the Parole Violation.  He will appear in District Court on April 26th on the misdemeanor charges.

Christopher Farris was arrested and charged with:

Minor in Possession of Alcohol – Misdemeanor

Farris was booked into the Detention Center and later released on bond pending an appearance in District Court for April 26th.

Baxter County Sheriff’s Investigators are currently working with investigators from Johnson County with respect to processing the stolen vehicle, and the filing of additional charges is possible.
