Sex Offender Arrested After Anonymous Tip

July 10, 2011, at approximately 7:30 pm, Vincent Lee Michael Hatfield, age 24, was arrested without incident following an anonymous tip to the Baxter County Sheriff's Office.

Hatfield's name and photo were placed on the Most Wanted Section of the Baxter County Sheriff's Website 2 days prior. Hatfield, who is a registered sex offender, was wanted for failing to comply with the sex offender requirements. His whereabouts were unknown to authorities.

Vincent Hatfield had been convicted of crimes as a juvenile but is required to register as a sex offender even as an adult.  Hatfield had moved from his registered address in Mountain Home without notifying authorities and was considered by the State as a absconder.

At approximately 7:15 pm, the Dispatcher at the Sheriff's Office received an anonymous tip from a concerned citizen. Deputies responded to that location on Cranfield Road and took Hatfield into custody without incident.

Hatfield was charged with:

Failure to Meet the Sex Offender Requirements          Class C Felony

Vincent Lee Michael Hatfield was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center on bond of $10,000 pending his appearance in Baxter County Circuit Court on July 14 at 9 am.
