Sex Offender Arrested Second Time For Failure to Comply

06/23/2011

On June 20, the Baxter County Sheriff's Office received a tip that a registered sex offender was not living at their registered address. An investigation was started and was concluded this afternoon when Sheriff's Investigators arrested Debra Caroline Henson, a Level 2 Sex Offender.

Investigators were able to determine that Henson had completed a change of address form on January 21, 2010 moving her from Baxter County to Second Street, in Mountain Home, Arkansas.  Henson's landlord confirmed to investigators that she lived at a residence on Mullins Lane which is East of Mountain Home. The utilities were also listed in Ms. Hansen's name and her Government assistance was being sent to the Mullins Street address as well.

Debra Henson was convicted in September 2002 for Incest involving a male juvenile. She was assessed as a Level 2 Sex Offender, without public notification. A level 2 is considered a moderate risk to reoffend.  She was arrested and charged by Baxter County Deputies in December 2009 for Failure to Comply when authorities determined she was not employed where she had registered.

Henson was arrested without incident at 46 Mullins Lane, in Mountain Home. She was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center where she received an additional charge of Obstructing Governmental Operations after she lied to the Sheriff's Booking Officer while being booked in.

Debra Caroline Henson, age 49 was charged with:

Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration      Class C Felony
Obstructing Governmental Operations                         Class C Misdemeanor

Henson posted a $15,000 bond and was released pending her appearance in Baxter County Circuit Court on June 30.
