TWO MEN BEING HELD IN WHITE COUNTY JAIL IN SEARCY ON BAXTER COUNTY WARRANTS

02/24/2011

Two men are currently being held in the White County Jail in Searcy, Arkansas on felony arrest warrants from Baxter County related to the theft of two Honda ATVs from the Big Flat area.

On November 21, 2010, the Sheriff’s Office received a report that a 2002 Honda Rancher 4 wheeler and a 2005 Honda Rancher 4 wheeler had been stolen from a private residence in the Big Flat area sometime during the night.  A potential suspect was named in the incident report by the victim.

On November 30, 2010, the victim informed authorities that there was a 4 wheeler listed for sale on Craigslist that matched the description of the stolen 2005 Honda.  This 4 wheeler was said to be located on Searcy, Arkansas.  When the victim inquired about going to look at the 4 wheeler, she was informed it had already been sold.  White County Sheriff’s Investigators were later able to determine that the 4 wheeler in question had been sold to a business in Beebe, Arkansas, which is also in White County.

White County Investigators continued to follow up leads, and on January 31, 2011, they notified Baxter County that the 2005 Honda had been recovered.  On February 3, 2011, the White County Sheriff’s Office notified Baxter County that the second 4 wheeler, the 2002 Honda, had been taken to Cabot in Lonoke County, then later sold to a person in Pulaski County.  The 2002 Honda was recovered at an address in Pulaski County.  Two suspects, identified as Terry Webb and Ferrell Whaley, both admitted to taking the two Honda 4 wheelers, and they also admitted to taking a trailer from the Big Flat area at the same time from a separate victim.

TERRY LYNN WEBB, 31 years old of Charlotte, Arkansas and FERRELL RAY WHALEY, 31 years old of Jonesboro, Arkansas both remain incarcerated in the White County Jail, not only on Baxter County Warrants for felony Theft of Property but also on charges from White County.  Bond on the Baxter County Warrants is set at $25,000 each.  It is presently unknown when they will be brought to Baxter County for a court appearance.
