MAN WITH MULTIPLE PRIOR ARRESTS FOR VIOLATING A NO CONTACT ORDER IS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY YET AGAIN

02/03/2011

For the fifth time since October, 2010, a rural Mountain Home man has been arrested for Violating a No Contact Order and other charges after deputies responded to a disturbance call this morning.

A 911 call was received at approximately 9:34 AM today from 1015 Winddancer Cr. from a woman reporting that MR. SHUNN STEPHENS was outside the residence in violation of a No Contact Order from the District Court.  Deputies responded to the residence, but they were unable to locate or make contact with SHUNN STEPHENS at that time.

A second call was received at 10:17 AM reporting STEPHENS had returned again to the residence and was being very hostile.  Sheriff's Deputy Tracy Munson arrived again at the residence and was told that STEPHENS was in a downstairs area of the home.  Deputy Munson confronted STEPHENS and placed him under arrest.  SHUNN STEPHENS refused to submit to the arrest and attempted to flee from Deputy Munson.  A physical struggle ensured between STEPHENS and Deputy Munson.  STEPHENS was subsequently taken into custody with assistance provided by other members of the household.    Deputy David Estes also responded to the scene to assist Deputy Munson.

SHUNN DEWAYNE STEPHENS, 21 years of age, was transported to the Baxter Coundy Detention Center and charged with:

Residential Burglary - Felony
Resisting Arrest - Misdemeanor
Violation of a No Contact Order - Misdemeanor
Probation Violation - Misdemeanor

STEPHENS is scheduled to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court on February 10th, with bond currently set at $50,000.
