Sheriff's Office Launches New Website Design

01/21/2011

Two and one-half million visitors. 769 Most Wanted Arrested. Hundreds of ‘TIPS'. Thousands have received email alerts. Since its launch 3 years ago, the Baxter County Sheriff's Office's Website has been a tremendous tool for keeping the public informed as well as getting the people involved in helping us keep the community safe. More than 100,000 visits to our website are recorded each month also has proven to help as a crime deterrent.

History: When we partnered with the company, Brooks Jeffrey Marketing to build our website, we knew the website would only be successful if the public found the site easy to use and kept coming back. We also knew that the content of the website had to change almost daily to keep the public coming back. With this in mind, we believe we have one the most successful law enforcement websites anywhere. And we are not the only ones. Approximately 1/3 of all of the Counties in Arkansas now use our website template. The website design is now being used by law enforcement agencies in numerous states across the country. It has been a huge success to those communities as well as their respective law enforcement agencies.

The Baxter County Sheriff's Office is pleased to announce its new updated version of the website. We believe this new design will make it even easier for everyone to navigate as well as provide even more information at the citizen's fingertips. We strongly believe an informed public is a safer public and that transparency is the key to public trust. Some of the new features include a redesigned home page to make it even easier to navigate. The latest press release activities as well as the last person booked into our jail now located on the Home Page. We also now offer text alerts. This allows for a person to sign up to receive an alert on their cell phone of any breaking news or information occurs. It is now even easier for someone to send or notify of a tip.

The inmate roster continues to be a popular feature. Everyone who is arrested and booked into our jail automatically appears on our website. Based upon feedback from the public as well as wait staff at restaurants and nightclubs and bars, we believe this feature also serves as a deterrent to drinking and driving.
