Mountain Home Man Charged With Attempt to Manufacture Methamphetamine

     On December 6, 2010 the Baxter County Sheriff's Office assisted Officers from the Arkansas Adult Probation and Parole with a home visit on one of their probationers, Heath Lee. Information had been obtained that the probationer's brother, Johnny Ray Lee, who was wanted by authorities, was at the residence. When Officers and Deputies arrived, a third party answered the door and stated neither of the Lee brothers were at the residence. A search of the residence did not reveal them, however several pieces of drug paraphernalia and a "Box Lab' used for the manufacture of Methamphetamine was discovered in Lee's bedroom.

     Several item used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine were seized along with spoons, syringes and zip lock bags. Suspected Prescription drugs, Adderall (Schedule II Drug) and Valium (Schedule IV Drug) were also seized. A plastic bag containing a substance believed to be K2, which is against the law to possess in Baxter County,  was also seized.

     During the follow-up investigation it was learned that the suspect had made several purchases of pseudoephedrine in the last sixty (60) days. An affidavit was prepared and arrest warrant issued. Mountain Home Police Officer Jonathan Griffin spotted the suspect on December 12 and took him into custody without incident.

Heath Dale Lee, age 31 of Mountain Home, was charged with:

Attempt to Manufacture a Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine      Class A Felony
Possession of a Controlled Substance, Schedule II                                       Class C Felony
Possession of a Controlled Substance, Schedule IV                                     Class A Misdemeanor
Habitual Offender-Sentencing for Felony

     Heath Dale Lee is currently being held in the Baxter County Detention Center on bond of $25,000. He is scheduled to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court on January 6, 2011.

Johnny Ray Lee, age 36 was taken into custody at another residence on a warrant for Failure to Appear. He is being held without bond.
