MAN LIVING IN RURAL MOUNTAIN HOME AREA ARRESTED FOR FAILING TO REGISTER AS SEX OFFENDER

12/10/2010

A rural Mountain Home man has been arrested and jailed for Failing to Register as a Sex Offender with the Sheriff’s Office.  Investigators learned yesterday of Mr. Love’s presence in Baxter County when the parents of a 14 year old girl made a complaint to the Sheriff’s Office of improper touching and personal contact between the girl and Mr. Love.

Investigators were able to determine that Charles Love had a prior conviction for Rape of Spouse by Force, Fear, or Threat from Santa Clara County, California in 1988.  He was brought to the Sheriff’s Office today for investigative purposes, and he was subsequently charged with Failing to Register as a Sex Offender based upon his conviction in California.  It is not yet clear how long that Mr. Love has been living in Baxter County.

Charles Love, 64 years old of 129 Lake Park Loop, Mountain Home, was charged with:

Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration Act – Class C Felony

Charles Love was incarcerated in the Detention Center with bond set at $15,000.  He will appear in Baxter County Circuit Court on December 16th.
