September 20, 2010

The Lakeview Police Department and the Baxter County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help.

On Sunday, September 19, at approximately 11 pm, two male subjects broke into the First National Branch Bank in Lakeview, Arkansas.

Entry was gained by forcing open the front door. One suspect stood watch outside while the second suspect went inside. The suspect pried open several doors and drawers in the bank. The suspects made off with an undisclosed amount of change (coins) believed to be several hundred dollars. The suspects carried the change away from the bank in what is believed to be a trash can from the bank.

The suspects wore hoods and masks over their faces. The suspect in the bank was wearing a white or light gray hooded sweatshirt with a design on the front. The second suspect was wearing a dark colored, possibly brown hooded sweatshirt. The suspects were in the bank only 9 minutes and were gone upon the deputies arrival. Vehicle information or direction of travel is unknown.

Anyone with information or if anyone comes in contact with someone with a large amount of change is asked to contact the Baxter County Sheriff's office at 870-425-7000 or the Lakeview Police Department at 870-431-8744.
